Yu-Gi-Oh! Sealed Product Explained: Booster Boxes, Structure Decks and Tins

0

Yu-Gi-Oh! has one of the widest ranges of sealed product of any trading card game, and it can be confusing if you are new or returning after a few years away. This guide covers the main product types and who each one is for.

Core Booster Boxes

Core sets release several times a year and each booster box contains 24 packs of 9 cards. These are where the newest archetypes and meta-defining cards first appear. If you follow the competitive scene or want the freshest cards, core boosters are your starting point.

Deck Build Boxes

Deck Build Boxes contain a small number of themed archetypes with all the cards you need to build them. Each pack focuses on those themes, so opening a full box is a reliable way to assemble two or three complete decks rather than random singles. They are excellent value for players who want playable decks fast.

Structure Decks

A Structure Deck is a ready-to-play 40-plus card deck around a single strategy. Buying three copies of the same Structure Deck is a long-standing tradition because it gives you three copies of the key cards and a competitive starting point for very little money.

Tins and Mega Packs

Yearly tins bundle Mega Packs that reprint the best cards from the previous year, often with upgraded rarities. They are the cheapest way to pick up expensive staples and are a favourite for budget players.

Which should you buy?

Beginners should start with a Structure Deck or Deck Build Box. Competitive players will want the latest core booster box. Collectors chasing Secret and Starlight rares should look at core sets and special edition boxes. Browse our Yu-Gi-Oh! range to see what is in stock right now.
